Expected Behavior

We encourage members to:

• Engage in friendly, meaningful conversations
• Respect others' boundaries and preferences
• Report suspicious or inappropriate behavior
• Be patient and understanding with others
• Keep interactions positive and constructive
• Protect your personal information and respect others' privacy
• Follow all applicable laws and regulations

Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviors are strictly forbidden and may result in account termination:

• Harassment & Bullying Threatening, intimidating, or targeting other members. Includes stalking, unwanted contact, or coordinated attacks.
• Inappropriate Content Sharing adult material, graphic images, or content unsuitable for a general audience. This includes profile pictures, messages, and links.
• Hate Speech Using language that discriminates, degrades, or promotes hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
• Underage Use Members must be adults (18+). Any content involving minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to authorities.

• Spam & Solicitation Sending unsolicited advertisements, promotional messages, or requests for money. Commercial activities require prior approval.
• Impersonation Pretending to be someone else—real or fictional. Creating fake profiles or misrepresenting your identity is prohibited.
• Fraud & Scams Any attempt to deceive, defraud, or manipulate other members for financial gain or personal advantage.
• Privacy Violations Sharing other members' private information without consent (doxxing). This includes personal details, photos, or conversations.
• Illegal Activities Any content or behavior that violates laws, including but not limited to copyright infringement, theft, or promoting illegal acts.
• Underage Use Members must be 18+. Any content involving minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to authorities.
• Self-Promotion Abuse Excessive self-promotion, repeatedly sharing social media handles, or attempting to migrate conversations off-platform without consent.

Content Standards

All user-generated content should:

• Be appropriate for a general audience
• Respect intellectual property rights
• Not contain graphic violence or gore
• Not promote dangerous activities
• Not spread misinformation or harmful conspiracy theories
• Be truthful and not deliberately misleading

Enforcement & Consequences

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

• Warning: First-time or minor violations receive a warning with explanation.
• Temporary Suspension: Repeated or serious violations may result in temporary account suspension (7–30 days).
• Permanent Ban: Severe violations or repeated offenses lead to immediate permanent account termination.
• Legal Reporting: Illegal content will be reported to appropriate authorities.

All enforcement decisions are at the sole discretion of the Sydney Chat moderation team. Appeals may be submitted to [email protected].

Reporting Violations

If you witness behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately:

• Use the "Report" button on any user's profile or message
• Email [email protected] with details and screenshots
• Include username, date/time, and description of the violation
• All reports are reviewed within 24 hours

We take all reports seriously and protect reporters' confidentiality.

Updates to Guidelines

These guidelines may be updated periodically to address new challenges or improve clarity. Members will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of Sydney Chat after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised guidelines.
